Local Expertise, Industrywide Impact: Spotlight on Kim Nesbitt

Posted:

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, making it the perfect time to highlight one of FNBRF's own employees who is helping lead the fight against financial fraud.

Kim Nesbitt, Vice President of Bank Operations at First National Bank of River Falls and Chair of the WBA Financial Crimes Committee, speaks at the Wisconsin Bankers Association Security Conference.
At First National Bank of River Falls, our employees' commitment to their communities and the banking industry extends well beyond our doors. Kim Nesbitt, Vice President of Bank Operations, is a great example of that dedication.

Kim was recently featured by the Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA) for her leadership as Chair of the WBA Financial Crimes Committee, where she collaborates with banking professionals across Wisconsin to stay informed on emerging fraud trends, share knowledge, and strengthen fraud prevention efforts.

As financial scams become increasingly sophisticated, Kim recognizes the importance of staying ahead of evolving threats while maintaining the trust and convenience customers expect.

"The challenge is finding that balance between making banking easy for our customers while making it difficult for fraudsters," Kim shared in her WBA interview.

Her involvement with the committee began in 2022 as an opportunity to learn from others and build professional relationships. Today, those connections continue to provide valuable insights as banks navigate new challenges involving artificial intelligence, impersonation scams, and financial crimes.

Beyond her professional expertise, the WBA spotlight also offers a fun look at Kim outside the bank, including her first job, an alternate career she once considered, and one of her favorite local destinations.

During Cybersecurity Awareness Month and throughout the year, we're proud to have employees like Kim sharing their expertise, strengthening our industry, and helping protect the customers and communities we serve.
