Beginning March 1, 2005 people living in the Midwest can get a FREE credit report once a year.
- Checking your credit report is a good way to make sure your credit is accurate.
- A low credit score puts you at risk of lower credit limits higher, rates on your existing credit, and denial of future credit requests.
- Checking your payment records can warn you if someone is using your identity to borrow money.
Remember that the law allows you to order one free copy from each of the nationwide consumer reporting agencies each year.
